Brayering Basics #5

This is the final card in my brayering basics series. This time we brayered a sunset.

Ingredients List
Cardstock – whisper white, Chocolate Chip
Inkpads – Early Espresso, Chocolate Chip, Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze & Cherry Cobbler
Stamp sets – “Serene Silhouettes” & “Thoughts & Prayers”
Other – 1 3/8” circle punch, sticky note, brayer

This is the last of the brayering basics cards.

Brayered Basics #4

Second last card in our Brayering basics class.  This is probably my favourite of them all.  This time we stamped small butterflies from the pappillion potpourri set (check out the promotions tab as this one is on special bundled with the matching punch for the month of September).  We then stamped the beautiful Swallowtail with versamark and embossed with clear embossing powder before running the brayer over with elegant eggplant until we had a smooth colour. A final step just rub over the embossing with a tissue to get the excess ink off.

Ingredients List
Cardstock – whisper white, Pistachio Pudding
Inkpads – Crisp Cantaloupe, So Saffron, Pistachio Pudding & Elegant Eggplant, versamark
Stamp sets – Papillion Potpourri, Swallowtail & Petite Pairs
Other – brayer, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat tool, Large Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch

I hope you have been enjoying this series

Brayered Basics #2

This card was the second of five cards done in a recent brayering basics class.  This time we used our brayer and a textured place mat that I picked up at Kmart for $3 to make a background for our Lovely as a Tree stamps.

Ingredients List
Cardstock – whisper white, Gumball Green
Inkpads –  Gumball Green
Stamp sets – Lovely as a Tree & Delightful Dozen
Other – Gumball Green & Cherry Cobbler markers, early espresso stitched Grosgrain, brayer, chalk talk framelet

Brayered Basics Class #1

I’ve copied these posts over from my Stampin’ Up! site now that I’ve started to use this blog again.  I will post some new stuff soon too.

I’ve been asked by one of the girls who did my class to put the cards we made up on the blog with the colours etc so I thought I would put them up one at a time.  Here is the first of 5 cards.  This one we made the background by wrapping rubber bands around the brayer and then inking them up. A simple effect that could be used in many different ways.

Ingredients List
Cardstock – whisper white, Island Indigo
Inkpads – Island Indigo, Bermuda Bay, Costal Cabana
Stamp sets – The Open Sea & Delightful Dozen
Other – rubber bands, brayer & Labels Collection Framelets

Stay tuned for another brayered card tomorrow.
